Anouk Anansi's Story
Updated: Jan 25, 2022
Me is so excited! Being the founder Soul Writers Journal, I look forward to all the new collaborations and getting uplifting, empowering and positive news out there. But before we continue with that, let me first tell you a little bit about myself!

Who am I?
I am Anouk Anansi, 29 and a half years young, at this very moment. I’m originally from The Netherlands, but feel Australian by heart. This is because this is where I have found a big part of myself, where life is about (love & creativity) and felt finally free to express this, and even loved and appreciated because of this! I started travelling back in May ’15, and actually haven’t settled down anywhere since. I now live with my South African partner in his converted bus and my caravan, on top of a hill a few hours east of Cape Town. What else? Anansi is not my real second name. A camp mate at the Africa Burn gave it to me, as the spider Anansi is a folktale character. I couldn’t have introduced myself much better: “Anansi is most well-known for his ability to outsmart and triumph over more powerful opponents through his use of cunning, creativity and wit. Despite taking on the role of the trickster, Anansi's actions and parables often carry him as protagonist due to his ability to transform his apparent weaknesses into virtues”, thus Wikipedia.
Nice to meet you too ;)

My spiritual journey
That started right at the start of my gypsy lifestyle! Feeling restless from the inside, whilst having the best milkshake on the best beaches of Indonesia, I found that something had to change. Vipassana kept coming up and even though I had never ever done any meditation in my life before – let alone meditation for 10 hours per day for 20 days in a row-, I kind of knew this could be my saviour. Worth trying. From here followed many meditation courses, yoga and chi gong experiences and spiritual books and teachings followed. In July 2019, I started creating guided meditations and last January I started offering 1:1 mindshift mentoring, to guide people towards a happier self. My long term plan would be to make a Mindshift Course with phases, to find your identity and work towards realizing your passions and dreams.
What do I wish to share with the world I am in a space of inspiration, creation and happy sharings. I do what I love and I love what I do, and wish to inspire people around me to do the same, in what ever way they wish to. If this is singing, through meditation, fishing or doing a tantra course- go for it. But find what makes you happy, and do more of it! I intent to inspire others to do so, through things like my happy artistry, empowering documentaries, spirit songs, mindshift meditations and mentoring and through platforms like these!
"I do what I love and I love what I do"
How would your ideal world look like?
A world in which people not only dare to express themselves, but also be appreciated and respected by doing so. By doing so, I truly think the world would be a happier place, as I believe each individual has a heart of gold and society is often in the way to express this, which causes pain and diseases.
Something quirky about me?
I loooove photographing grasshoppers! I even have a whole Grasshopper Photography Series. I find them so interesting and they come in the most pretty colors, like this one that I found in the outback of Australia. I find photographing the little things in general much more interesting than big things, like elephants & zebras! Jep, that’s me.
I hope you enjoyed reading a little more about me. Scroll around this huge website (excuse me, there are about 90 pages, still growing), or head to my Anouk Anansi nstagram Page for daily happy news.
I would also know a little more about you! Please, share in the comments a little about who you are, where you’re from (that is what a gypsy always likes to know), what you love more about spirituality and what you have to share to the world, I’m looking forward!
With love and lightness
